Steve Cavin has been in the Horticultural Industry for almost 35 years, ranging form residential, small farm settings, Municipal work, school campuses, and extensive native landscape activities. Steve spent time with the Columbia, Missouri Park and Recreation Landscape Division doing public horticulture work for city buildings, parks and golf courses. After this, he spent time with Chemlawn, learning the tree and shrub business and starting a pruning service for existing customers. Steve spent the next 8 years working at the City of Saint Louis Public Schools, doing greenhouse propagation, greenhouse management, athletic field maintenance and tree care. In 1995, he was assigned to the new Gateway complex where it became an award-winning site with national recognition. Steve’s exposure to and experience with native landscaping really accelerated at this site. Finally, Steve has worked with one of the pre-eminent native landscape experts in Saint Louis, refining his expertise and background in native plants and native maintenance.
